The training focus is to provide insight into the fundamental principles and laws that determine network and system responsiveness. It also deals with the metrics needed to detect and resolve performance problems.
Key Benefits
- Prevent service deployment failures due to unacceptable system responsiveness
- Help develop efficient applications that require less capital investment on computer and network resources
- Help system administrators determine whether service slowdowns are caused by the system, network or the application.
- Prevent time to market delays of software products
We currently offer the following course:
Fundamentals of computer and network performance
This course is useful to computer and network engineers, application developers, system administrators, performance engineers and IS staff and managers wishing to understand the factors that contribute to good computer and network performance. After taking this course the student will have learned the following:
Skills learned
Performance problem troubleshooting
- The student will be able to quickly focus capital and tuning resources on the bottleneck which causes slow response as opposed to spending on components which do not contribute to the slow response.
Basic SAS language and graphing
This course will teach how to write SAS programs to read, manipulate and produce basic statistics using the SAS system.
Skills learned
Data Analysis and Manipulation
- The student will be able to read external data, manipulate it and create SAS datasets for further analysis. He will then be able to produce reports or graphical plots to further analyze or present it.
